Nick Shuhet is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Mountain Lakes, NJ who attends Mountain Lakes. Large, athletic build with present strength in his lower half. 7.69-second runner during the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple, repeatable operation with a full arm swing, coming from a high 3/4 slot. Lively fastball, showing the ability to add and subtract from his heater, working in the low-to-mid 80s, topping out at 86 mph. Showcased full arsenal that included 11-5 shaped breaking ball that had both horizontal and vertical tilt. Maintained his arm speed well for his change-up that had late fading action. Was able to land all three pitches for strikes, and certainly project as plus as he continues to refine feel for them. Secondary outfielder, deliberate actions, flashing the glove a bit late, comes through the ball well. Present arm strength, on line throws, up to 84 mph. Right-handed hitter, even stance with a low back elbow. Hanging leg-lift-trigger, engaging his lower half well. Whole field approach, flashing some line-drive impact with present bat speed. Had a tendency to cast his hands during BP round. Excellent student. Named to Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase Top Prospect list.
