Tripp Swords is a 2028 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Newborn, GA who attends Eastside. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.98 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, preps well prior to approach of ball, shows clean funnel when going glove side, quick release on throws from a low slot, young footwork will continue to refine, shows carry on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, deliberate tempo to operation, repeats and goes through progression of mechanics; pitched to contact, fastball topped out at 78 mph with sinking life through the zone. Mixed a curveball up to 62 mph and landed it for strikes consistently. Right-handed hitter, begins with a straight stance and a high hand set at the plate, direct and simple path to the ball with swing through the zone. Shows strength to hands and a middle of the field approach, simple mechanics and shifts weight well through lower half. Polished swing, repeats well, line drive carry coming off.
