LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2022 Northern California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Mark Hu is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-5 197 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends The Harker. A taller and lengthy build with some present strength. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. On the mound shows a tall and fall delivery with a short stride down the mound with a slight crossfire landing. Longer arm action out of a 3/4 slot. Some difficulty staying consistent and getting everything in sync. Threw a fastball up to 83 with slight arm side run, a curve with 12-6 shape and late bite at times, and a change-up with fading action and maintained arm speed. In the infield he fields the ball cleanly with softer hands, slow setting feet, longer arm action and slightly above average arm strength. Looked better a first base where his soft hands and double play turns were efficient and he moved ok around the bag. At the plate hit from a wider base and square stance. Very low hands to start, simple load stride timing, slight loft in the bat path, pushes hands through the zone, doesn't let athleticism and leverage take over enough but did show a decent feel for the barrel squaring up several balls to his pull side.
