Ayden Sumner is a 2024 RHP/C/IF with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Hendersonville, NC who attends East Henderson. Young, long and lean frame. Ran a 7.91 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts with a big side step in a belt high leg lift, balanced at the top and drives down the mound well, works free easy with a loose arm, fastball shows some sink to the arm side and shows two different breaking balls already with a slower curveball and a developing slider. Worked out behind the dish with young and developing actions, sets up slightly turned and throws from a low slot down to second. Also worked out in the infield and outfield with similarly developing actions, shows looseness to the arm that projects with strength. Righthanded hitter, works with some quickness on a level swing plane that will improve results with added strength.
