2022 National Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Tripp Johns is a 2023 3B/1B with a 6-2 207 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Lafayette. Recorded a 7.64 second sixty yard dash time. Large frame with a thick and physical build, has definite strength present. Primary third baseman, moves well for his size, utilizes a medium arm circle with solid carry across the diamond. Developing lateral range, shows decent hands to both sides and looked good when making plays on the move. Secondary first baseman with a passive approach, has some softness to the hands and shows solid footwork around the bag. Looks comfortable here and may be best suited for first base at the next level. Left-handed hitter with a slightly open and upright stance, has a high hand and back elbow set up. Utilizes a simple/minimal stride, has slight loft to the bat path and turns the barrel over well. Max effort swing with head whack, looks to elevate and stays committed to the middle of the field. Has bat speed present, solid round overall and has plenty of strength in the swing. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
