2023 Sunshine East Showcase
Colin McCormick is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Kenilworth, IL who attends IMG Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.68 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athleticism plays in actions and does so with ease showing fluidity, big arm strength across the diamond with carry on throws, projects well moving forward. Also pitched, coil at top of delivery before hinging over the rubber; tends to cut off with strike foot coming down the mound. Fastball topped out at 84 mph and gets extended out front while showing running life. Pitched to contact, showed a slider at 73 mph with horizontal with big life to it. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and utilizes a big leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Swung it very well in live action, found the barrel often and showed comfort working to all fields. Doubled down the pull side line early and followed with a single the other way, repeats well and shows ability to adjust. Very good student. Named to the Sunshine East Top Prospect List.
