Matthew Bernath is a 2024 SS/2B/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Riverside, CA who attends Centennial. Features a medium/athletic build that moved well at SS. Works low to the ground with light feet that get him set into good posture and give him quality range to both sides. Showed present glove skills with some glove-to-hand quickness which helped him get off throws quickly. Showed a shorter arm action that worked with some easy effort strength and accuracy across the diamond. Defense translated in-game as well with several tough ranging plays he was able to make. At the plate, sits in a relaxed stance with loose hands. Hands/barrel take back slightly with a higher elbow with a no-stride lower half that keeps him balanced. It’s a shorter/connected swing where he turns fast and where his hands flashed quickness. Produced a lot of pull side barrels during his round and had a hard line drive knock up the box during gameplay. 7.16 60 yd.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
