2022 West Coast Prospect Showcase
Mauricio Padilla is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 5-9 110 lb. frame from Moreno Valley, CA who attends John W. North. Compact, wiry build with solid athletic traits that show on both sides. More projection in store. Left-handed pitcher, balanced delivery from a shorter arm action and over-the-top slot. Flashed a high-60s fastball and low-60s curveball that locate well and keep hitters off balanced. Mixes tempos from the left side very well. Also showed a strong arm to the bag at first base with good technique in his footwork. Left-handed hitter, works from a slightly lofted path with good angle to the barrel. Developing strength at impact can unleash full potential. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
