Kaleb Giles is a 2023 SS/RHP, C with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Mesa, AZ who attends Highland. Showed plus speed with a 6.68 second sixty. Primary short stop with a medium build. The foot speed plays on the infield working around the ball with good direction getting the ball out of the glove quickly and getting rid of it with a short arm action showing average arm strength. Behind the plate he gains ground getting into the throwing position on time allowing him to make accurate throws with average arm strength recording a 1.93 second pop time. Uses a leg lift above the belt with good direction showing some control to the fastball at 78-82 mph from a higher arm slot playing best up in the zone. Changeup showed as the better secondary with consistent hand speed playing well off the fastball in the mid 70's. Curveball has downer depth in the low 60'd with potential from better bite with more conviction at the release point. Switch hitter, starts with an even base from a narrow base loading the hands up with a smaller leg lift to trigger the swing working the ball best from the middle to opposite field with some strength at contact. From the left-side he starts with a similar set up showing solid bat speed and feel for the barrel with a level path. Good student. Named to the 2021 Southwest Prospects Showcase Top Prospect List.
