2022 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Blake Young is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Lakewood, CO who attends D'Evelyn. Slender athletic build. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.07 seconds. Primary outfielder, came to the ball well, worked through the ball with smooth hands and a slower transition. Displayed good arm strength on throws from the outfield, was clocked up to 78 mph. Still developing the accuracy but will continue to get better as he gets older. From the mound, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot, the fastball sat 72-78 mph with good life. Located well to both sides of the plate, the fastball had good zip and will continue to develop as he gets older. At the plate, hits from a slightly open stance with a simple stride transferring his weight well creating loud contact. Has a quick level swing with good bat speed that stays long through the zone consistently driving the ball to the middle of the field. Good student. Was named to the Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
