Benjamin Ayala is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Elkhorn, NE who attends Elkhorn. Long and loose young pitcher's build, lots of physical projection remaining. Slow to fast delivery with a compact 3/4's arm slot, has a fast arm, upper body can be too fast at times but lower half is calm and directional. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, mostly straight with some late sinking action down in the zone. Creates tight spin on his curveball, still developing feel for a consistent slot on the pitch. Developing change up. Very good bet to keep improving as he adds strength and gets repetitions. 6.85 runner in the sixty, has good footwork in the outfield with a clean crow hop and good direction, plenty of raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow open stance with a short and quick swing, middle of the field line drive approach with some natural lift out front. Very interesting young sophomore follow with tons of physical projection. Good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
