Donovan "Dj" Cicero is a 2024 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Palos Verdes Estates, CA who attends Palos Verdes. Large, projectable build with long limbs and a lean, projectable build and room to fill throughout. Ran an 8.06 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, long and loose arm action through the back, worked to a mid three-quarters release point and dropped down lower later in outing which helped generate nice life to his fastball, drop and drive mechanics through lower half coming down the mound. Topped out at 77 mph, moves it around the zone well with command, maintained velocity well and projects moving forward. Developed feel for curveball over the course of outing, up to 64 mph and flashed tight spin, best shape and feel when working from the lower release point. Fields the ball close to body at first base, works into a shorter arm action, extra step moving into release but shows accuracy on throws and moves well away from the base. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; loads hands back deep at start of swing, long path through the zone, hits the ball out front. Tends to open front side early, shows carry off the barrel when squared, can continue to shorten approach, projects with strength.
