Joel Olazaba is a 2022 3B/RHP/OF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Santa Teresa. Compact strong build. Right handed hitter, hits from an exaggerated high back elbow start and a busy overall load, looping swing due to his back elbow position, swings hard and flashes some pull size power. 7.39 runner in the sixty. Has good footwork in the infield at third base and positions himself well, stays balanced and directional, developing arm strength, makes accurate throws and made the routine plays routinely. Also pitched, deep arm action in back with a rotational upper body delivery going to the plate, will spin off his front side at release. Did a good job of throwing strikes with a fastball that topped out at 72 mph, also threw a soft curveball. Good student.
