Derin De La Cruz is a 2022 SS/2B with a 6-1 167 lb. frame from Jersey City, NJ who attends Freedom. Taller and slender frame with lots of room to fill out. Ran a 7.88 in the sixty yard dash. A primary infielder, looks to square ground balls up and staying back to read hops. Timing with his hands and transferring with a low slot and flicking the ball across infield and around the bag. A right-handed hitter, starts with an extended base and striding long and lifting based on timing, some rhythm to the hands and looks to extend the arms and get out front with a middle of the field approach. A secondary pitcher, has a high front lever and a compact arm action with high 3/4 release that can create some deception, mixed the FB/CB throughout the outing.
