Benjamin Lau is a 2026 OF/LHP with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Oviedo, FL who attends Oviedo. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and comes through it with lower half, long and loose arm action through the backside, works on line to the target from a higher slot, shoulder tilt on throws. Also pitched, similar full arm action on the mound working to an over the top slot; worked around the zone, fastball topped out at 72 mph with consistent cut action through the zone. Curveball shows tightness to it with 1-7 shape and plenty of depth through the zone. Left-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, loads hands back later in his process. Best contact to the middle of the field with linear path, some line drive carry, longer swing path through the zone and keeps hands inside the ball and tight. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
