Ryder Cielen is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA. Lean frame with some size that should see him fill out moving forward. Moved athletically overall, whether on the mound or in the outfield. Ran a 7.87 60-yard dash. On the mound the right-handed pitcher worked up to 81 mph on his fastball, holding 77-81 mph throughout the outing. He had a slow start to the delivery with a big leg lift, moving down the mound well for a good finish through release. He works from a lower arm slot, almost side-arm that helped make a crafty pitch mix. The fastball had some life and paired well with a slider that he got around on to create good sweep with some tilt as well. Spins the ball well, mixing in a changeup occasionally. Fielded his position well on a comebacker hit to him, moving athletically off the mound to make a play. In the outfield, he made throws that were on the money from a quick arm. Threw from a lower slot and kept the throws low and on target. He waited for the ball to come to him and worked around it with fluid actions. A right-handed hitter who started with his hands set high and a widened stance. He was able to lift the ball to centerfield and display bat-to-ball skills during his BP round.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
