Kalen Applefield is a 2024 C/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends La Costa Canyon. Tall and barrel chested build with a strong athletic frame. Ran a 7.07 in the sixty yard dash. A primary catcher, replaces the feet well with anticipation to catch and release. On line throws and confidence with the arm. Popped a 1.90 and has very good arm strength at 81 mph. Also worked out in the outfield showing some aggressiveness to the ball and good arm strength, 93 mph on the throws. A switch hitter, strong hands at the point of contact and shorter to the ball from both sides. Translates to game well and he has some pop to all fields. Excellent student and committed to the University of California.
