Cameron Norton is a 2024 RHP/2B/3B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Andover, MA who attends Andover. Recorded a 8.29 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with square shoulders and plenty of room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with good rhythm and tempo to it. Incorporates a coiled leg lift into balance with shorter stride out to foot strike and slight cross-body release. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 60s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 68 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with good command to both sides of the plate with his fastball, mixed in slower breaking ball that varied in shape with gradual depth to it. Secondary infielder with a developing defensive skill set; exhibits deliberate footwork into the fielding process, a deeper funnel with slight waist bend to field and some lateral range to both sides. Recorded arm strength up to 66 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates slight backward weight shift and rotational lower half mechanics to launch, while displaying a hands drive stroke with linear swing plane and developing feel for the barrel. Patient approach with best contact to the middle and pull-side of the field. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Young, developing prospect with plenty of upside remaining. Good Student.
