Alvin Santiago is a 2025 RHP/2B/3B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Alonso. Young look and build with lots of room to get stronger, has some strength and width in his hips that will serve him well on the mound in the future. Slow paced delivery with a pause at the top, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, occasionally falls off to the first base side to let his arm through. Worked mostly in the mid-70's with his fastball, touched 78-79 mph early, works up and down in the strike zone and tends to miss low when he misses, good horizontal command, fastball was mostly straight. Curveball was a solid second pitch with big downer action at times that changed hitter's eye level. 7.35 runner in the sixty. Showed good athletic actions in the middle infield on defense, has energy going after the ball, throws from a higher arm slot with good carry on his throws, third base future. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide stance with a big lower half coil and long stride into contact, long arm driving swing, mid field to opposite field contact. Good student.
