2023 Sunshine Southwest Showcase
Mickey Smith is a 2026 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF, UT with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Fort Mohave, AZ who attends River Valley High School. Features a medium sized build with room to add strength. A primary infielder that works on the mound as well. Started the event off clocking a 7.09 60-yard dash. Defensively Smith showed he could make all the required plays and throws with confidence. The arm is strong and accurate with carry to the bases. At the plate, Mickey starts in a tall, narrow stance using a small leg kick trigger. Has current hand/bat speed and utilizes his lower half well generating power from the ground up. On the mound he features a 2-pitch mix (FB, SL) out of a low 3/4 slot; Works out of the stretch exclusively. Plus sweeping slider action with 2400+ spin, pounds the zone. Fastball runs in on righties. Solid outing. Excellent student.
