Ashton Collins is a 2023 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Ran a 7.80 second sixty. Primary catcher with a smaller lean build. Sits in a higher stance behind the plate getting the ball out of the glove cleanly with a longer arm action keeping the ball low to the base with accuracy recording a 2.12 second pop time. On the infield the hands show young actions with developing footwork bring the ball into the midline with a longer release showing average carry across the diamond. On the mound he hits the ball well up to a high three-quarters arm slot with the fastball sitting 70-73 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape with room for more intent as the arm speed continues to improve as he already shows the ability to get both pithes in the zone consistently. Right-handed hitter, uses a small stride from an even base with limited hand load, the barrel path works with some loft through the hitting zone impacting the ball to the middle of the field with young bat speed. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
