Troy Osborne is a 2024 C/RHP/UT with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Grants Pass, OR who attends Grants Pass. Long and lean athletic build with lots of physical projection. Runs very well for a primary catcher, 6.99 in the sixty. Athletic actions behind the plate defensively, has a quick transfer on his throws and lots of arm strength for a 2024, athletic footwork, has a chance to be a solid defensive catcher behind the plate as he gets stronger. Plenty athletic enough to play multiple other positions on the field. Right handed hitter, big barrel wrap to start his swing, best swings were in the game when he was more aggressive and getting the barrel out, can get too inside and opposite field oriented at times, projects well as a hitter with adjustments. Also pitched, has a compact catcher's arm action on the mound with a quick hand drop delivery and a tight 3/4's release. Threw only fastballs in this outing, topping out at 78 mph and throwing lots of strikes. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.
