2021 PG Softball Beta Combine #2
Mia Molina is a 5’2, class of 2026, MIF from Muscatine, IA who will attend Muscatine HS. She shows noticeable and apparent twitch and athleticism. Her impressive 3.34 20 yard dash/60 yard run and 5.17 shuttle should enhance her projectability as her career continues. A primary middle infielder and secondary outfielder, Mia shows an innate ability with a glove on her hand. In the OF, Mia she reads the ball off the bat well and gets a consistently sound jump to position. She shows solid rhythm to field and her glove plays up. She is quick to transition, and short arm stroke allows her throws to be highly accurate. As good as she is in the outfield, her skills are really highlighted on the dirt. She shows quick feet to position, and her smooth glove allows her to field, transition, and throw at a plus level. Her throws show routine accuracy. At the plate, Mia is a conventional LHH who shows an inside-out swing path and a consistent ability to drive the ball through the circle and to the off field with routine effort. Her flatter swing path allows her to get to and through contact quite well. She has the look of a top-of-the-order hitter who understands the strike zone and uses a contact first mentality to drive the ball. Mia, as she matures physically and gains experience at a higher competition level, should have the chance to play at a higher level. (cjm)
