Jase Runde is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Peosta, IA who attends Hempstead. Recorded a 7.23 second sixty yard dash time. Tall and lean frame with room to fill. Primary right-handed pitcher with drop and drive lower half mechanics, has a compact operation overall and utilizes a short arm action with some plunge. Fastball shows some cut to the glove side and stays straight when arm side, has some sink when low in the zone. Gets swing and miss with the fastball when at the knees or below, is most effective when he keeps it glove side. Curveball showed limited shape and late downer action, filled up the zone well enough and got outs. Velocity tended to to be all over the place, struggles to repeat his release point at times. Will improve as he throws with more intent and refines his breaking ball. Has the frame to see a velocity increase in the future. Secondary outfielder, fields off the back foot with long actions. Will get more on line carry on his throws as he reaches extension out front. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance and a low hand set. Utilizes a small lift and replace trigger and an uphill path, has some strength in the swing. Quiet operation overall, long swing with a pull side approach. Developing barrel control/accuracy, tended to be underneath the ball during his round. Has the strength to really improve and impact the ball. Great student.
