Chase Cotton is a 2028 RHP/3B/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Lincoln, CA who attends Whitney. Athletic, projectable frame with a high waist, present lower half strength and plenty to room to continue maturing physically. Recorded a 7.64 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with a coiled leg lift and turn into balance. Incorporates a medium stride length with some cross-body deception upon foot strike, while working into a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked mostly in the low-80s with cutting action to it, peaking at 85 mph in this look with carry through the zone. Strike thrower with ability to command both sides of the plate effectively before unleashing a sharp 11-5 shaped breaking ball with depth for strikes. Flashed firmer changeup with slight arm-side fade and plenty to like moving forward. Tons of velocity upside remaining with limitless upside overall. Secondary infielder with fundamentally sound defensive skill set and plenty of arm strength across the diamond. Showed lateral range to both sides, while using proper footwork on the backhands and works through the baseball up the middle. Showed accuracy across up to 82 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a tall, narrow and slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger into launch. Sinks into lower half during loading, creates some separation into contact and has some quickness to his hands. Showed best impact to the middle and opposite field has some strength at impact, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Intriguing, young prospect with tons of upside on the mound. Good Student. Named to the 2023 Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival.
