Matthew Tellez is a 2024 SS/RHP/MIF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Mansfield, TX who attends Lake Ridge. Medium frame with an athletic, slightly physical build. Ran a 6.90 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, good mover on the dirt with solid first steps and good range as a whole, timing works well around the dirt and confident working through the baseball, good glove work and a big arm, up to 89 on throws across and maintains accuracy. Also pitches, quicker pace to his delivery, small stride and shorter arm stroke, good life to the fastball up to 87, carry and life plays well through zone, showed both curveball and slider, more downer on the curveball, able to turn over a changeup with dive to the arm side, can pound the zone and get weak contact. Right-handed hitter, wide base and tight hand sort, compact stroke with big hand speed and hand strength, consistent in finding the barrel and producing line drives all over the field, good strength to profile more power on, well-rounded hitter. Great student. Named to 2022 High School All State Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
