2020 14U Sunshine West Showcase
Anthony Rodriguez is a 2024 C with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Granada Hills, CA who attends Bishop Alemany. Medium, athletic frame with some present strength on build and additional room to grow moving forward. Ran an 8.23 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, athletic stance behind the plate, lower set to start and gets tall out of the crouch but replaces feet well, will refine overall footwork, higher slot with a tight release, shows accuracy on throws down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; loads weight and keeps it on backside, does a nice job of staying shorter to the ball. Linear path through the zone, contact oriented approach with developing strength, works the middle and pull side parts of the field. Very good student.
