Tanner Nguyen is a 2024 RHP/3B, SS, IF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Farmerville, LA who attends Neville. Tanner ran a 7.59 sixty. Primary pitcher Nguyen has a slender athletic frame with some strength still to be put on. On the mound the operation is simple and repeatable as the hands go over the head in the windup with very efficient movement down the slope in his lower half. His fastball had plenty of ride through the zone as he showed a quick arm at a high three quarters slot. The fastball sat 82-85mph with some late ASR to it. The breaking ball was tight spun with a 12-6 shape to it. Secondary infielder he showed solid arm strength across the diamond with accurate throws. The hands work smooth as he catches the ball cleanly and efficiently. The right handed hitter starts from a wide even foot base with a medium leg lift trigger. The swing itself is long with plenty of extension in the hands. He used the entire field with some bat speed and carry to the opposite field gaps. He was named to the 2022 Deep South Prospect Top Team List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
