Elijah Rodriguez is a 2022 C/2B with a 5-8 173 lb. frame from Baytown, TX who attends Sterling. Recorded a 7.48 second 60 yard dash time. Compact frame and athletic build with present strength. Primary catcher with short and quick actions, shows a flexible lower half. Great catch and throw skills, gains ground towards second and has a quick trigger. Fluid process and pure arm stroke. Impressive blocking and receiving skills in the games as well. Right-handed hitter with a high hand and elbow set and a small leg lift trigger. Simple and smooth operation with a quick trigger. Compact swing with some jump off the barrel, generates good bat speed through the zone. Repeats the swing well and has the ability to lift at contact. Consistent mid-field approach with loud contact. Swung it very well in the games. Exciting all-round player with obvious skills that shows a passion for the game. Won't be uncommitted for long. Excellent student. Named to the 2020 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
