Sammy Skinner is a 2025 1B/LHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Desert Vista High School. Features a strong, durable build. A primary first baseman that pitches as well. Skinner started off the event clocking a 7.12 60-yard dash. Sam was a standout at the plate in his BP round and more specifically in-game where he torched every live arm he faced. Starts in a traditional balanced stance using small hand load and leg kick trigger mechanism. One of the loudest and most consistent hitters at the event. Drove balls into the gap with backspin and has the ability to use the whole field. There is real power potential here. Defensively has all the traits to stick at first base. Shows excellent footwork around the bag and made accurate feeds to all the bases. On the mound Skinner features a 3-pitch mix (FB, SL, CH) out of a 3/4 arm slot. Easy, athletic, repeatable delivery; Works fast and primarily out of the stretch. Fastball bores in on right handed hitters making it hard to square him up. Creates a good angle to tie up lefties as he starts on the first base side of the rubber, definitely and uncomfortable at-bat. Struck out 6 in 2 innings of work. Top Prospect. High follow.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
