2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Mason Best is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-10 125 lb. frame from Savannah, GA who attends Savannah Christian Prep. Medium height with a lean frame and longer limbs with lot of projection remaining. Ran a 7.78 in the sixty yard dash. A primary pitcher, starts square and works to a big hip turn and a full arm path and over the top release. Worked away with a two pitch mix, showing feel to land an 11/5 shaped slider. Lots of strikes and forces contact early. A secondary outfielder, worked through his approach and showed some quickness in his transfer and release. A right-handed hitter, starts even and in line with a leg lift trigger. Linear process and flat path with a middle line drive approach. Very good student.
