Jake Baskin is a 2025 OF/RHP, C, UT with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. Thomas. Primary outfielder with an athletic look to the build. Showed solid speed with a 6.95 second sixty. Takes a measured approach to the ball fielding it on the side and taking a big gather with solid arm strength on the accrue throws that come out with good plane on an accurate line. Sits high in the stance behind the plate. Gets out of the crouch quickly with a bigger jab step to gain ground into the throws. Arm strength carries the operation with a 1.99 second pop time. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base and open stance. Path stays short and compact to the ball while working with the barrel out front at contact. Some hand speed and good plane both project well for the swing with mostly linear contact. Good student. Named to the 2023 Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect List.
