Connor Woods is a 2027 MIF/RHP with a 6-0 157 lb. frame from Fayetteville, NC who attends Freedom Christian Academy. Impressive young athletic build, still only 12 years old but athletically advanced. Showed very good actions at multiple positions in the infield on defense, has good footwork and very good balance, compact arm action with impressive carry on his throws, was surprisingly good at first base although that is not a normal position for him. Right handed hitter, hits from a very narrow start with a turned in front shoulder, best swings were when he let the barrel go and turned aggressively, tended to get overly mechanical and segmented at times. Graded out best on the mound and that might be his eventual future. Easy delivery with a smooth and fluid arm action, rides his back side down the mound well, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball lived in the 75-77 mph range with plus late sink and run, showed plus command of the fastball down in the zone. Slider was a solid second pitch and landed consistently for strikes as well. Very interesting young player with a bright future. Named to the 14U Fall Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
