Matt Acquaviva is a 2023 2B/RHP/OF with a 5-6 130 lb. frame from Millstone, NJ who attends Allentown. Recorded a 5.50 second forty-yard dash time. Small, compact frame with some lean muscle to his lower half and plenty of room to add strength. Primary second baseman with a developing defensive skill set; incorporates anticipatory footwork throughout the fielding process, some lateral range and clean funnel out in front. Displayed smooth transfer, good usage of his lower half and quick release. Recorded arm strength up to 73 mph across the diamond. Secondary Right-handed pitcher; abbreviated windup with short side-step rocker into a belt high leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked on the upper-60s for the majority of his outing, topping out at 71 mph from compact, high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with ability to command both sides of the plate fairly well, while sequencing his two-pitch mix effectively. Mixed in slow, looping curveball that flashed 12-6 shape and some gradual depth. Right-handed hitter that hits from a crouched, open stance with a high hand set, high back and inward leg kick trigger. Contact oriented stroke with longer, upward swing path and developing bat-to-ball skills. Middle-of-the field approach with occasional line drive impact, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
