2020 14U Fall South Showcase
Vladimir Martinez is a 2025 1B/RHP/C with a 5-5 185 lb. frame from Houston, TX. Compact frame with some physicality to the build at present. Ran a 9.47 second 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows some youth to actions, bends at the waist to receive and fields it close to his body while positioning himself well to turn into accurate throws. Also worked out behind the dish, has a higher setup with a deliberate process into release while gaining ground to the bag. Pitches as well, works solely from the stretch with a simple up and down leg lift; uses a compact arm action to release that creates some sink to the fastball from throwing out of a three-quarters slot. Right-handed hitter, sets up even with a high back elbow. Gets rotational in the lower half and swings hard on a lofted swing plane. Shows some bat to ball skills at present that will improve consistency as he matures and cleans up the swing process.
