Giancarlo Valencia is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 5-5 143 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita. Smaller young body. 7.74 runner, has nice actions in the middle infield, well balanced working through the ball with good footwork and quick hands, smooth and fluid, some developing arm strength and can get rid of the ball quickly. Right handed hitter, hits form an open stance with a lift and replace leg load, short and direct swing with middle of the field approach. Also pitched, simple low effort side step delivery, 3/4's to mid 3/4's arm slot creates good running life on a mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, threw strikes. Very good student. Defense will play until he grows a bit and gets stronger. Excellent student.
