Nicolas Torres is a 2023 1B/RHP/OF with a 5-7 158 lb. frame from Naples, FL who attends Gulf Coast. Shorter compact build. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow open stance with a deep hand load, rotates shoulders to start his swing, line drive to downhill swing plane, mid field to pull side contact. 7.68 runner in the sixty. Works low to the ground on defense at first base and has good hands at the ball, developing arm strength from an over the top arm slot. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery with a pause at the top, long full arm action leading to a high 3/4's arm slot. Threw consistent strikes with three pitches and worked to early contact while mixing his pitches, fastball topped out at 72 mph with some arm side run, landed his curveball for strikes frequently. Good student.
