Giovanni Castaing is a 2027 C/3B/SS with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Petaluma, CA who attends Petaluma. Medium frame with a high waste and athleticism. Ran a 7.78 in the sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, low set up with directional footwork and a fast glove to hand transfer, made on line accurate throws, popped 2.01 seconds in drills. Also worked out in the infield, quick first step with confident glove work, moved well laterally, throws had carry behind them up to 84 mph from a higher slot. Right handed hitter, open stance with high hands and a high back elbow, hover leg lift trigger, developing timing consistency, squared up some hard line drives when on time.
