Corbyn Clayton is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Tupelo, MS who attends Pontotoc. Smaller, athletic looking frame with tons of quick twitch athleticism and plenty of time to physically mature. Recorded a 6.88 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with athletic actions throughout the fielding process. Displayed a quick first step with tons of lateral range, a clean funnel out in-front and plenty of arm strength across the diamond. Worked downhill through the baseball and recorded arm strength up to 88 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a quick paced delivery with a slight lean back at the top of the balance position and good lower movements down the slope. Quick, whippy arm stroke with tons of present hand speed, ran his fastball up to 84 mph in this look and steadily worked in the low-80s for the majority of his outing. Mixed in two distinct breaking balls with firmer, sharp slider producing some awkward swings-and-misses. Curveball was used early in the count, as he landed it for strikes. Athletic mover with some two-way abilities as he continues to mature. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he flashed above average arm strength up to 89 mph and similar athletic actions. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, open stance with a high tight hand set and hanging leg lift trigger. Intent based swing with slightly lofted stroke and some compact hand speed. Rotational lower half mechanics with slightly mistimed barrel, displayed whole field approach with best impact through the middle-of-the field. Swing translates into game where he consistently produces line drives and flashes some gap-to-gap power potential. Dynamic athlete with legitimate two-way upside and tons of physical projection remaining. Will continue to expand overall skill set with additional strength and minor refinements mechanically.
