Ethan Chapin is a 2024 C/RHP, MIF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Waverly, IA who attends Waverly-Shell Rock. He has a good frame with a lanky build and plenty of room to add more strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Primary catcher that shows quick feet when throwing to second base. He has a strong arm behind the plate, recording a 71 mph throw. He could shave more time off an already good pop time by working towards second base on his throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher that utilizes a knee to belt leg kick and has a slow and in control delivery. He fires from a 3/4 arm slot and stays closed throughout his motion. His fastball is straighter and he worked it primarily at the top of the zone. His curveball has 11/5 shape with nice depth. Also worked out on the infield, showing an easy operation throughout the process. He covers ground well and gets his glove down early. Right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base and a square stance. He has a longer swing and is rotational. He has a line drive approach and looks to use all parts of the field. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
