Chase McEwan is a 2025 RHP/C, IF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Denver, IA who attends Denver Senior. Young, large, well proportioned frame with potential for added physical strength. Primary position is RH pitcher, throw from 3/4 arm slot. FB up to 80 mph with arm side run and sinking action when down in the zone. Tries to locate FB to all quadrants of the strike zone, needs to continue to refine FB command. CB has slow 3/4 slurve type action. Around the zone with all pitches, needs to improve the quality of his strikes. Also played middle infield and catcher, has fundamentally sound defensive skills, received the ball cleanly. When catching, has sound set-up and sound defensive skills behind the plate. Arm strength will continue to improve with normal progression. LH hitter with straight away stance, holds hands high. Line drive, contact type hitter with middle of the field type hitting approach. Showed quickness in hands with developing raw strength in swing. Will continue to improve in all areas of the game with proper development and added physical strength. Good student.
