Joseph Escobar is a 2025 1B/RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Hollywood, FL who attends Nova. Medium, square shouldered frame with some present strength proportioned to frame, additional room to develop moving forward. Ran an 8.02 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, moves well around the bag with comfort in actions, quicker funnel into a longer arm action, shows accuracy on throws and will continue to refine footwork overall. Similar arm path from the outfield, tends to get uphill lat times in release but comes through the all well and shows accuracy. Also pitched, leg lift up to chest at start, lands on line coming down the mound and works with an up-tempo pace. Medium length to arm stroke, works to a high three-quarters release; fastball topped out at 69 mph, flashed short running life to the arm side and mixed a bigger 11-5 shaped curveball at 58 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow base with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Direct path to the ball, pre-pitch movement, gets downhill with plane at times, best contact when on a linear path, line drive carry off of the barrel when squared and can go the other way, contact oriented approach. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
