Tyler Mays is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Winfield, AL who attends Winfield. Ran a 7.01 second sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher with a large build showing strength through out the frame. Has clean mechanics working down the hill as the arm gets to a three-quarters arm slot with flashes of arm speed to build on. The fastball sat 80-83 mph as a pitch he could change eye levels with and use to set up the off speed pitches. The curevball worked 12-6 with later downer action as the primary off speed while he was also able to kill the spin not he changeup and create fading action while maintaining his arm speed through the release. Works aggressive to the baseball in the outfield fielding it out front. Gains ground into the throws with a short arm action showing good carry on the throws topping out at 85 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base sitting into the lower half a bit. The bat path works slightly uphill with strength at the point of contact and and an ability to hit the ball to all field with an 87 mph exit velocity. Very good student. Named to the Sunshine Gulf Coast Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
