Luke Rizzo is a 2023 3B/2B/SS with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame with additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows athleticism, comes through the ball cleanly with footwork and shows clean transfers, works to an over-the-top release point, remains compact with actions, shows nice arm strength and carry on throws on to first base. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even and balanced stance at the plate, aways get away from body at start and remains simple with swing mechanics. Shows quickness in hands and creates jump off of the barrel to pull side with present bat speed through the zone; generates occasional lift and uses length of levers well, shows best carry off of the barrel to the pull side. Excellent student.
