Pete Browand is a 2027 C/RHP, UT with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Gig Harbor, WA who attends Peninsula. Wiry frame that was athletic and has the potential to keep improving strength as he fills out his frame. Right-handed pitcher who worked from a lower arm slot with a shorter arm action and repeated his actions well. He missed barrels and induced weak contact during his outing. Showed a 3-pitch mix, working 68-71 mph on the fastball, pairing it with a curveball in the low-60s that had some slurvy actions. He showed a changeup around 65 mph that fell off the table and induced swings & misses from the opposition. Worked out as an infielder with long & quick strides to the ball, being able to make a clean transfer and make on target throws coming out of the clean transfer. Also worked out as a catcher who starts low to the ground and maintains a shorter arm-action on throws down to second. As a right-handed hitter he sets up with the hands high and back elbow up. He was able to meet the ball out in front of the plate for contact. He drifts the front side forward and lets the hip make a quick turn, looking to get that barrel to the ball quickly. Excellent student.
