Ashten Ballew is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Katy. Long and lean young athletic build. Primary middle infielder on defense, fields the ball cleanly and has some lower body life, max effort thrower with long actions into his release, plenty of raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a hanging front leg load, tends to get his foot down late, has a short downhill swing with a middle away approach. Also pitched and has some potential on the mound. Works from a very simple turn and throw delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, looked like he was 4-seam/2-seaming his fastball and getting weak ground ball contact. Curveball had outstanding spin and flashed nasty hard biting action with near 2800 rpm spin rates. Easy to see him throwing harder and the curveball could be a weapon. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
