Corey Bennett is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from De Soto, KS who attends St. James Academy. A taller and athletic frame with long levers. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. A right-handed pitcher with strength present in his taller and athletic frame. He has a clean and repeatable delivery working pretty vertical overall. His feet start closer together as he works through the delivery with a shorter arm action and a three-quarters arm slot. He keeps the mechanics simple and uses the long levers as he moves down the mound, producing some jumpy looks out of the hand. His fastball was up to 87 mph, riding well especially up in the zone. Paired it with a 12-6 breaking curveball that was slurvy at times. Overall he stays within himself on the mound and is able to attack hitters. Worked out in the outfield with a solid first step, helping him gain athletic momentum as he worked to the ball. Fields it out front working through it with his hands, keeping the momentum all the way through the trow. Had a clean transfer into his throw, keeping it low & on target, with strength behind it at 80 mph. A right-handed hitter who starts with a taller and wider base. He's slightly open and uses toe-tap timing. Closes off as he loads and opens as he rotates through, getting the body through. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
