Zach O'Connell is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Large frame with a lean build showing room to fill out physically. Ran a 7.24 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, good first step instincts proving to have lateral range. Glove work showing well scooping it up working into transfer. Accurate throws across the diamond up to 79 mph. Fundamentally sound. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, side step into a belt high lift before striding out. Lands a bit closed off and delivered from a three-quarter slot. Lived around the zone with a fastball up to 75 mph and spin rates just over 2,000 rpm. Also spun a breaking ball in low-60's with spin rates up to 1,895 rpm. Right-Handed Hitter, open stance to start. Toe tap to stride before working into a longer, linear cut. Proved he could drive it on a line to all fields showcasing barrel control. Mechanically sound cut that will play down the road as he continues to fill out physically. Great Student.
