2023 Northern California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Alexander Jones is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. large athletic frame from Oakdale, CA who attends Oakdale High School. At the plate he starts in a traditional balanced stance. Showed quick hand/bat speed, has natural lift in the swing and was able to square it up consistently in his BP round. Produced some loud line-drives and demonstrated that there is juice in the bat to all fields. Defensively behind the plate Jones starts in a higher crouch position. His athleticism plays and showed the ability to pop out of his stance quickly and efficiently. Used proper feet/glove mechanics and the transfers were smooth with a quick release. Has a strong, accurate arm. Clocked a 7.10 60-yard dash. Excellent student.
