Dreson Champagne is a 2023 RHP/2B, SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Southside, AL who attends Southside. Recorded a 7.57 second 60-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher with a long and lanky frame and wiry build. Staggered feet start from first base side of the rubber and big swinging movement into delivery. Crouches a bit on the backside with lift before getting down the slope to a lower 3/4 arm slot release. Fastball with arm side run from slight cross-body delivery up to 84 mph (2145 RPM) and a slider with tilt at 73 mph (2432 RPM). Moves the ball to both sides of the plate with action on both pitches. Secondary middle infielder with athletic actions moving around and solid hands to gather. Gets around the ball with solid footwork and throws across the diamond at 86 mph. Right-handed hitter with a balanced stance and high hands setup in the box. Deep load to separation with an inward knee-lift trigger stride. Middle-field approach with ability to find the barrel to all fields. Athletic actions on both sides of the ball with slender frame to add size and strength. Excellent student.
